This site is run for the Boys’ Rite of Passage of PCEA Nanyuki Central Parish, a programme of the Presbyterian Church Men Fellowship (PCMF). It keeps only what the programme needs to receive your son safely, care for him at camp and keep in touch with you. We follow Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.
What we keep
- About your son: his name, age or date of birth, school, church, and the answers to the medical questions on the form.
- About you: your name, how you are related to him, your phone numbers, where you live, and any other guardian you name.
- Payments: amounts, M-Pesa or bank references, and a photo of a bank slip if you send one.
- At camp: when he is signed in and out, his class and his mentor.
- Messages you send through the site’s chat.
- For the team: the name, email, phone and photo of each committee member and mentor who signs in.
Who can see it
- Only members of the Rite of Passage team who sign in, and each only as far as their role allows. These limits are enforced by the database itself.
- Medical answers are kept apart and opened only to those given the medical right. They are never shown on name tags, on the sign-in/out scan screen, to mentors, or on the parent’s tracking page.
- A mentor sees the boys in his care and their parents’ names and phones, so he can reach you. He does not see medical answers or payments.
- Name tags carry your son’s name, number, class and mentor, never your phone number, his age or anything medical.
- On the website we show the names and photos of team members only when they have agreed. We never publish a child’s name, number or any detail from the form.
- We do not sell or share your information. It is stored with our hosting providers (Supabase for the database and files, Vercel for the website), who keep it for us and do not use it for themselves.
Signing in with Google
Team members may sign in with Google. We receive only their name, email address and Google profile picture, to confirm who they are. Parents never need an account: you track your application with its number and your phone.
How long we keep it
We keep a family’s record for as long as the programme and the church’s records need it, including follow-up after graduation. You may ask us to correct it, or to remove it when it is no longer needed.
Your questions
To see, correct or remove what we hold about you or your son, contact the Rite of Passage committee.
